ARCHITECTURE OF THE NEAR FUTURE

S•CAB is a partner of Architects Meet in Selinunte, now in its 12th edition, an international event organised by AIAC - the Italian Association of Architecture and Criticism - in collaboration with the Trapani Order of Architects P.P.C. 

The title of this 12th edition is: New Normalities, Architecture of the near future.

The goal over the three days is to take a look at the new architectural builds in Italy, to examine how both public and private spaces have changed in recent years due to new lifestyles precipitated by numerous and simultaneous external causes: from Covid to digitalisation, the change in family make-ups and new forms of work, including the uptick in remote working and co-working.

Architects Meet in Selinunte is attended by architects, academics and architecture critics who come to Selinunte from all over Italy and abroad. This year’s special guests include the art historian and critic, Vittorio Sgarbi, the Portuguese landscape architect, Joao Nunes, the architects, Luciano Pia and Alberto Cecchetto, and the Canadian firm, Revery Architecture.

The SELINUNTE INTERNATIONAL PRIZE is awarded to internationally renowned designers who have brought particular prestige to the discipline through their work. Winners of previous editions include Daniel Libeskind, Massimiliano Fuksas, Mario Bellini, Benedetta Tagliabue, William Alsop, Allies and Morrison, Odile Decq, Dominique Perrault, Rcr Arquitectes, and Francisco Mangado.  
SELINUNTE NATIONAL PRIZES are awarded to architects, companies and individuals who have distinguished themselves through the quality of their projects.
