The ADI Permanent Design Observatory has selected the S•CAB Si-Si collection for the Design Index 2021, thus nominating it for the next Compasso d’Oro award that will be decided in 2022.
The ADI Design Index gathers together the best Italian design products of the year, selected by the ADI Permanent Design Observatory, and is considered to be one of the most authoritative international publications in the world of design. The products selected by the ADI Design Index compete for the Compasso d’Oro, the prestigious award set up in 1954 from an idea by Gio Ponti with the aim of officially recognising the most innovative industrial design product. We are very proud to have been chosen by the ADI Design Index with the Si-Si collection with which we have a very special affinity; it has already won several important awards in the past.
Eclectic and multi-material chair, Si-Si (design Meneghello Paolelli Associati) is above all a smart chair that is capable of interpreting the fragile balance between indoor and outdoor. A single body, fixed to the slender frame, can act either as a backrest or as a seat. Hence the name Si-Si, a sound repeated twice that pays homage to the duplicity of this element. One frame and four ‘bodies’, with heterogeneous textures and materials, make it suitable to very different environments.
